Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by Mike Konopacki. Written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers. An 8 minute video about how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don't want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren't so sure. Obama; "We have to take on Entitlements" 2008 [VIDEO]
In 2008, President Obama campaigned on hope and change. He made lofty promises from closing Gitmo to changing the sea levels. At a debate in 2008, in between John McCain obsessively saying “my friends”, we heard a different Barack Obama than teh one we hear today. One that believed we must deal with our entitlement crisis and we must deal with it swiftly.
He addressed this because at the time, with an outgoing Republican president, it was in vogue to admit that entitlements and unfunded obligations were the problem. Nowadays, the only problem the left seems to see is that rich guys aren’t getting hosed. We’ve spent a month debating (supposedly) $800 billion in tax revenue against a $16 trillion dollar debt. All this without even addressing the unfunded obligations that Tom Brokaw mentioned in the video which by some accounts is in excess of $120 trillion. Yes. That’s a “t”.
Hopefully a compromise that at the very least prevents us from going backward will appear. I’m not optimistic.

Homeland Security Is Promoting Welfare to New Immigrants
The Obama Administration met with Mexican officials thirty times to promote US food stamp program for illegal immigrants.
And there’s this…
Homeland Security is promoting welfare to to new US immigrants.
The Daily Caller reported:
Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your new country can do for you.
“Welcome to USA.gov,” a website maintained by the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), bills itself as the “primary gateway for new immigrants to find basic information on how to settle in the United States” — featuring a prominent section for new immigrants about how to access government benefits.
“Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States, and income, you may be eligible for some federal benefit programs,” the Web page reads.
“Government assistance programs can be critically important to the well-being of some immigrants and their families. Frequently, however, there is a lack of information about how to access such benefits. Benefit programs can be complicated and you may be given misleading information about how they operate.”
The DHS page offers links to government websites that explain how to access benefits including food stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Medicare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the “official website with information on all available federal benefit programs,” with a nonworking link to Benefits.gov.
